Another fun evening was had by the Tuesday Night Knitters, because in addition to our usual knitting and frivolity, there was Jane's birthday to celebrate:*
*
I love this series of pictures of Donna & Jane sharing a laugh:
And I love how Jane cleans up her cake leftovers:
Plates? We don't need no stinkin' plates!
*
*
In and amongst the birthday celebration there were actual knitting-related activities, including the ceremonial sharing of the Finished Objects:
Issy finished her Lady Eleanor - gorgeous!

Sheddy finished her Karaoke cartridge belt rib scarf

Other knitters in our group Tuesday evening:
If you read Jane's blog regularly, you may recall a story she shared in January about how knitters live in a very small world. If you haven't read that story yet, I encourage you to jump over there right now and read it. You'll then appreciate these next two pictures all the more.
Here are two beautiful sweaters that Jane knitted in the 1990's, from the yarn she purchased at Jo's yard sale, way back when:
Jane decided that she wanted to give away that second sweater, and Issy was the lucky recipient:
Looks great!

Isn't that cool? A sweater now owned by Issy, knit over 10 years ago by Jane, with yarn purchased from and originally owned by Jo, back when none of them knew each other. And we're now all in the same knitting group. I just love how it all came full circle.
Mary Jane came to knit with us (yay!) and showed off the gorgeous mitered square project she's working on. Click to enlarge the picture, to get a better sense of the beautiful colors she's using:

And wonders never cease -- after knitting for two years, Tami finally learned how to purl! Hooray! She's working on a basketweave scarf for a friend:
Yay, Tami!

We're even attracting crocheters (**gasp**) to our group:
Issy assists a Girl Scout mom with a crochet issue.
Mom is teaching her troup to knit blankets for Project Linus.

And Linda shows the crocheter's youngest daughter about sock knitting.
I'd kill to have naturally curly hair like that little girl.

Once again, I came home from a super-fun evening that made me happy to be a knitter and to have these great knitting friends. Love you guys!
Tomorrow -- a finished object!
